• Who is Mr. Ahl?

    Class at Sacré Coeur

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in French Linguistics and a bachelor’s in History from Penn State University in 2016. During that   time, I lived for 5 months in Montpellier, France, where I took college-level classes as well as taught English at a local private high   school. After graduation, I accepted my position here at Allegany-Limestone, making this my 8th year teaching with the district. While   teaching here, I have also completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University. I now spend my off time with   my dog Callie, traveling, or involved in local theatre in our area. Having grown up in Olean, I appreciate this area, and the people in it   as some of the best people that I have had the pleasure of meeting.

In addition to being the only French teacher in the district, I am also the co-Student Activities Council advisor. For the past several   years, I have helped plan the dances and other schoolwide activities here at Allegany-Limestone. I am also the Drama Club advisor,   which means that I direct the school musical with help from our amazing music department. While I have my degrees in French and   History, I originally started at Penn State as a theatre major. I found my love for theatre at our local Olean Theatre Workshop in 1999,   and I have done dozens of plays and musicals since.

I strongly believe that the goal of education is to make each student stronger critical thinkers, problem solvers, more empathetic, and   more confident in order to be a global citizen. It is my hope that through learning another language, all my students will grow as   human beings while developing skills that will allow them to travel the world and will also aid them in their chosen professions later in   life. So, whether your student is just starting with me, or they are rounding out their sixth year in the program, I hope you feel that you   can always reach out if need be.
