English 9
Room 223Classroom Policies:
Respect the teacher, your classmates, and yourself
Be on time, turn work in on time, and be prepared for class
Be responsible and honest
Grading - In Class Assignments:
Students will have time to complete assignments in class; however, if they are not finished by the end of the designated time, then it will become homework and be due by the due date. Late points will be taken off for late in class assignments. Most assignments will be posted on Microsoft Teams.
Grading - Homework:
Students will have weekly homework assignments (mostly on Castle Learning) that will be assigned on Monday and due on Friday of that week. Students will have unlimited opportunity to turn their homework in as many times as need be up to 100% within the week. Students will not be able to redo the assignment once it is past due. Late points will be taken off for late homework assignments.
Grading - Late Work:
Assignments that get turned in late will be marked late and result in a loss of points. For every day that the assignment is late, it will result in one point being taken off. Students will receive a zero if the assignment is not turned in. If a student needs more time on an assignment, that student needs to talk to me prior to set up arrangements.
Absences:
If a student is absent, that student is responsible for reaching out to me to discuss missed materials and what actions need to take place to get caught up. Use Teams to stay the most up-to date on missed assignments and/or contact me via Teams.
Technology:
Laptops will be used mostly each and every single day for class. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure they are charged and brought to class. Therefore, phones are NOT to be used in the classroom. Phones are to be put away for the entire duration of class, unless otherwise permitted by the teacher.
ALCS Rules:
All ALCS rules will be followed and enforced in the classroom. Failure to comply with all the rules will result in disciplinary measures as appropriate according to the discipline matrix.
