Graded classwork – 20% of grade

    Quizzes - 20% of grade

Tests and graded classwork will be scored with number grades and weighted as shown above.

Homework will be given the following scores.

Score of 0 – homework is not handed in

Students who are absent will be given appropriate time to complete work missed. Please remember that you can view your child’s grades through the parent portal on the school’s website at any time. (the login and password information should have been mailed to you)

    HOMEWORK

We spend time reviewing homework each day. We focus on questions where students seemed to struggle most, trying to clear up any misunderstandings they may have. It is important that we all learn from our mistakes!

    • There will be some homework each week (I rarely give homework on the weekends).
    • Homework is due the next day unless otherwise noted in the agenda.
    • Please help your child understand the importance of homework by setting aside some time each night to go over it and discuss what he/she is learning.
    • You will find a link for help with math homework on my teacher webpage! It is great!
    • If your child does not understand the homework assignment, after giving his/her best effort, please indicate this on the assignment or in their agenda.
    • An appropriate time limit for homework for third grade is approximately 30 minutes. If your child is consistently working for longer than 30 minutes, please contact me ot discuss strategies for completion.
    • If your child does not have a formal assignment, it is expected that he/hse spend time reading for pleasure and/or practicing multiplication and division facts!
    • Please remember to sign your child's agenda daily. This indicates that you were aware of what the homework assignment was.
    • Special projects will also be assigned during the course of the year.
    •  (Remember, homework completion counts toward your child’s report card grade.)
